Samsung has the 3D show once again! The company exhibited a glasses free 3D LCD TV at FPD Shanghai, China 2011. The 55 inch 3D tv is actually a prototype featuring 9 different viewpoints. The glasses-free TV which enables us to see 3D content with naked eye. The operation logic is like this: LCD front panel is like a lens and capable of sending slightly changed different images to both eyes. 3D effect is created by using this method.
Samsung’s glasses free 3D prototype LCD tv can also operate in 2D. The other features are 1920×1080 full HD, 4000:1 ratio, direct-lit CCFL backlight tech.
According to interviews with a Samsung representative about this tv, it is likely that Samsung will change into a LED backlight.
The tv is not expected to be released for the market before 2014 though. For now, we will continue enjoying cutting-edge 50 inch 3D HDTV from Samsung.
